125 g Original Sahne Muh-Muhs Toffees
250 g butter or margarine
1 pinch of salt
250 g sugar
1 vanilla pod
1 packet vanilla sugar
3 eggs (size M)
325 g flour
100 g cornstarch
125 g almonds, ground, without skin if possible
1 level tsp. baking powder
Chocolate coating, dark and milk chocolate
First, unwrap the toffees and chop them into small pieces. Mix the butter, salt, sugar, the scraped-out core of the vanilla pod, vanilla sugar and eggs together to form a creamy mixture. Then mix the flour with the cornstarch and the baking powder – this is then also added to the mixture. After you have mixed all of this to a soft sponge mixture, then carefully add the almonds and toffee pieces.
Now fill the sponge mixture into a piping bag (a cake press will also work), place greaseproof paper onto the baking tray (otherwise the curls will stick to it) and try to pipe attractive curls onto the greaseproof paper. Tip: Expert pipers can also even pipe letters – a great idea for all kinds of events!
Bake at 200 °C (upper /lower heat) on the middle shelf for 10 to 12 minutes. Caution: Do not leave unattended! 10 minutes pass quickly – and then the curls turn brick-hard!
During this time, you can already start to melt the chocolate coating in a water bath. And once the curls (or letters) have cooled a little, dip each one half-way into the molten chocolate coating. Looks great and tastes absolutely delicious!
